Periodically, someone will be recognized who has helped promote quality middle level education in Maine in ways other than public school service.
Congratulations to our second awardee!
This year's recognition ceremony was highlighted by the presentation of the Friends of Middle Level Education Award, to Dr. Ed Brazee, Professor at the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Maine. Not only was Dr. Brazee recognized as the second recipient of the prestigious honor, but it was also announced that the award has been officially renamed the "Dr. Ed Brazee Award."
The Brazee Award is a periodic award, not necessarily annual, and acknowledges people who have helped promote quality middle level education in Maine in ways other than public school service. Dr. Brazee was recognized for his efforts in founding MAMLE seventeen years ago, starting the middle level program at the University of Maine, and establishing the very successful Middle Level Education Institute, as well as for his continued work with individual middle level teachers and schools.
