Bullying in Middle Schools

Summary of Topic:
Bullying in Middle Schools is a very frightening reality. Middle school students need to know that they are in a safe, supportive environment, and because of bullying they may not feel supported. Young adolescents need support and encouragement during their Middle School years, bullying can cause them to feel left out, alone, victimized, and abused. Middle Schools in general need to be aware of bullying and proactive in dealing with the problems bullying can cause, both to the bully and to the victim.

-Point 1: Schools need to be aware and proactive when dealing with bullying and harassment. Their policies should extend to teacher, parent, community, staff, and student.
-Point 2: The environment a school creates needs to be aware and against bullying to help them feel supportive and safe.
-Point 3: Both the victim and the bully need to be addressed equally.
-Point 4: Bullying is real and has a vast array of detrimental affects on children.
-Point 5: Suggestions and tips for dealing with bullying.
